Project context
Parques Nacionales Naturales is the entity dedicated to caring for the country's protected areas, part of the Ministry of Environment. It manages 65 nationally protected areas, including national parks declared for flora and fauna conservation. Their mission includes monitoring ecosystems and coordinating with other state agencies and indigenous communities.
The challenge
Growing application development and the need for more robust infrastructure led Parques Nacionales to consider cloud migration. Everything operated locally on-premise, exposed to electrical, internet and network issues.
On-premise local infrastructure vulnerable to electrical, internet and network issues affecting application availability
Access limitations for users across different applications — needed to enable nationwide access, not just for internal staff
Need to migrate to a more robust infrastructure guaranteeing security, availability and global accessibility
Our solution
Through a public procurement process, Pyramid Consulting was selected to migrate all applications and data to a secure space on Google Cloud.
Migration of applications from public cloud to a secure Google Cloud environment with transactional capability and attack protection
Implementation of digital certificates and Kubernetes containers to facilitate cloud application access
Managed services model with ongoing support from Pyramid Consulting
Results achieved
With Google Cloud, Parques Nacionales gained access to powerful tools that significantly improved operational efficiency, enabling a more agile workflow and informed decision-making. The solution proved its value during the pandemic and infrastructure events, where staff could work remotely while maintaining operations.
“If this works well, we must keep enhancing it. The goal is to have everything in the cloud. The virtual dynamic became truly functional.”
